The specific purposes of the Stillwater Ice Association (SIA) to provide a safe, fun, and educational environment for ice-related activities in Stillwater County. The SIA prioritizes youth and family development and participation and skill development in ice sport activities such as ice skating, hockey, and curling. The SIA recognizes the historic importance and character development of wintertime outdoor activities and the need for outdoor opportunities for the community. The SIA operates and maintains a skating rink in Columbus, Montana to carry out this mission for Stillwater County and surrounding communities. Additional goals and purposes of the SIA include the following:
A. To teach ice sports and sportsmanship to youth and adults in the community,
B. To affiliate with other ice sport and ice activity organizations in and around the area to help achieve SIA’s goals and purposes.
C. To conduct fundraising projects and otherwise solicit and receive donations and funds for the accomplishment of our mission.
D. To provide ice sport equipment to community members so that they are able to participate and enjoy the ice activity of their choice.
E. To promote, encourage, conduct, and operate such other charitable, educational, civic, and social events to support other community groups and foundations.
